Jep Banda

Jep and Treena met at a church young adults group in Kelowna, BC in 1992.  Jep made sure they quickly married before Treena could come to her senses.  They are now blessed with 4 daughters, 2 son in laws and 3 grandchildren.  They came to pastor at Crowsnest Christian Centre in Dec 2022.

Jep began his adult life working in the electrical trade, during which time he also cut his teeth in ministry at Evangel church in Kelowna. As a volunteer he led a bus ministry that would pick up kids and youth in the community and bring them to a kids church program.  Together with his team they developed a highly engaging curriculum that would reach the wide range of kids in this program.  Jep eventually came on staff at the church to oversee all the kids and youth ministries of the church.  These were wonderful years of community outreach, meaningful ministry and growing in pastoral leadership.  After 13 years of ministry it was time for a rest, so they sold their home, bought a motorhome and drove their young family to Mexico to begin a year sabatical. 

Following this wonderful time of rest they were invited to pastor at River of Life Community Church in Lethbridge, AB.  Jep pastored for aprox 15 years overseeing kids and youth ministries, family ministries, bus ministries, Mexico missions trips along with all the other forms of pastoral ministry.  During this time Jep specialized in helping families struggling in marriage and parenting and developed a Biblical based parenting workshop that has proven to be a helpful tool for many parents.. Also during these years the church went on a very unique journey to explore and blend the charasmatic, evangelical and historic practices that define the 3 main streams of Christian churches.  This led to a wonderful new appreciation for all the beautiful expressions of the Christian faith and led Jep to become ordained as an Anglican priest. 

Following this season, another time of rest from ministry was needed, so Jep returned to the regular work force and joined the maintenance team at the Lethbridge Airport. God also at this time opened some unique doors into the buisness world and both Jep and Treena entered into partnerships and started a buisness, Treena an interior design company and Jep an escape room buisness. 

After some fun years in these work worlds the Lord called Jep back into minstry to pastor where we find him now at the Church on the Hill in the Crowsnest Pass.  The Pass has been a regular place for their family to come and retreat with the Lord in the mountains so they feel extremely blessed to be called to pastor in this community with this amazing church family.
